Caring Kids: Expressing Big Feelings About Home

This workshop is for 5 to 12 year olds who have a loved one who has a disability, mental health challenges, or chronic illness. It is held in person in our offices.

Being in a space with other kids with similar experiences lets your child know that they are not the only one who might:

– experience stress about their family’s situation

– worry for their family member during school

– be concerned when a family member has an appointment

Using creative expression, we will explore what care means in different families, and talk about healthy coping skills and self-care. This workshop is not focused on educating children about their loved one’s condition, but rather to have a space and time dedicated just for them, and to explore their own feelings and experiences.

This workshop is interactive, private, and will not be recorded. Registration is required.

For all questions, concerns, or for further information, please contact Oliver at youngcarers@amiquebec.org.
