Care-iosity

This two-session workshop pilot is for 5 to 12 year olds who have a loved one who has a disability, mental health challenges, or chronic illness. It is held online.

Being in a space with other kids with similar experiences lets your child know that they are not the only one who might:

– experience stress about their family’s situation

– worry for their family member during school

– be concerned when a family member has an appointment

Using creative expression, we will explore what care means in different families, and talk about healthy coping skills and self-care. This workshop is not focused on educating children about their loved one’s condition, but rather to have a space and time dedicated just for them, and to explore their own feelings and experiences.

This workshop is a collaboration between AMI-Quebec and the Young Caregivers Association, who have been hosting programs for young carers for over 20 years!

This workshop is interactive, private, and will not be recorded. Registration is required.
