Volunteer at AMI-Quebec

Looking to volunteer? AMI-Québec is regularly looking for volunteers to help us with our programs and committees. There are various opportunities, and we’ll try to match you up with the one you like. Training and supervision are provided, and you are sure to join a dynamic team of individuals who gain from their volunteerism as much as they give.

Please note that many of our volunteering opportunities require a long-term commitment and training and that these trainings only take place when we have positions available. It may take several months for us to get back to you.

Here is a sample of some possibilities:

  • Support group facilitators – family members and people with lived experience with mental illness who recognize the importance of their personal experience in helping others cope with their own situations. Experience in support groups as a participant is required and training is provided.

  • Newsletter article writer – Our newsletter is published four times a year, and we are always looking for good content. You must have excellent writing skills, writing experience, and be interested in mental illness and mental health.

  • We need someone who can write grant proposals (previous experience necessary). You must have excellent writing skills, and some knowledge of mental illness is an asset.

If you have a special interest but don’t feel it fits in with the described openings, don’t despair. Our immediate need is to ensure our ongoing programs, but you may have a new and brilliant idea that we would like to hear about. Please complete the form below and if you have any questions, please call us at 514-486-1448.

PLEASE NOTE: the vast majority of our volunteering opportunities take place during the week, not on weekends.
